Premier League-Bound Stars Of Euro 2020
Euro 2020 Premier League-Bound Stars
As the tournament comes to close this weekend, we take a look at 5 Premier League-Bound Stars Of Euro 2020, who could be heading to a Premier League club near you this summer.
Manuel Locatelli (Italy)
The 23 year old Sassuolo midfielder has recently been linked to Arsenal after his stand out performances for Italy. It is believed that Sassuolo value Locatelli at around £34 million, but this price could have risen based on his recent form for the Azzurri. After the Gunners were unable to re-sign Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid they are searching for a creative player to partner Thomas Partey in midfield. Arsenal will face stiff competition to sign the young Italian, as Juventus are also rumoured to be fans of the former AC Milan player.
Robin Gosens (Germany)
Gosens was a clear stand-out star of Euro 2020 for Germany, in what proved to be a disappointing campaign. Leicester City have previously made a £17 million offer for Atalanta wing back, however it is believed that the Italian club are looking for between €35-40 million after his exploits during the Euros. Barcelona are also reportedly interested in signing Gosens and Koeman is very keen to bring him to the Camp Nou. Foxes fans can take heart however, as the current salary cap debacle at Barcelona may well cool their interest in the 26 year old German.
Denzel Dumfries (Holland)
The young Dutch defender grabbed the public’s attention after scoring 2 goals in Holland’s group stage victories against the Ukraine and Austria. The PSV Eindhoven player has a €15 million release clause in his contract and Everton have been heavily rumoured to be interested. The talented right-back also attracted admirers from Bayern Munich and Inter Milan, but both believed to lose interest due to the high price of his release clause. Rafa Benitez could view Dumfries as a long term replacement for Seamus Coleman and would prove a great acquisition with tremendous sell-on potential.
Mikkel Damsgaard (Denmark)
The 20 year old only joined Sampdoria last year for €6.7 million from Nordsjaelland, but could reportedly be on the move this summer. Both Liverpool and Leicester City are believed to be extremely interested in the young Dane, who English fans will know after his spectacular free-kick against the Three Lions in their semi-final. Damsgaard has been compared to former Liverpool fan favourite, Philippe Coutinho. It is believed that Leicester City are ahead of the Reds in chasing the midfielder’s signature, as they have already opened negotiations. It is believed the fee being circulated to obtain his services are around the €30 million mark.
Alexander Isak (Sweden)
Of all the stars of Euro 2020 on this list, Isak might be the least likely to come to the Premier League this summer. The Real Sociedad front man has been linked to a host of European clubs including Arsenal and Liverpool. Isak, however, has just signed a new 5 year contract with Real Sociedad, with what is believed to be a £77 million release clause. Liverpool were prepared to offer around £60 million for Isak, but now will probably look elsewhere to bolster their forward options. Real Madrid and Chelsea were also looking to bring in Isak, but again his newly increased release clause could cause them to investigate alternative options.
