Euro 2020: Scotland vs Croatia Preview

Scotland face Croatia tonight in what can only be described as a must win game for both sides, at Hampden Park. Steve Clarke’s side are the only team yet to score at the European Championships.

With England and Czech Republic both through already, and both of those nations facing each other tonight, Scotland and Croatia have their fate in their own hands going into their game at 8pm tonight, as a win for either team would see them go through as one of the four best third-placed teams. A second place finish is also possible, if England lose to Czech Republic Scotland could finish second if they are able to make up the current goal difference of three.

Scotland will be without midfielder Billy Gilmour, who put in a man-of-the-match display against England on Friday night, as the Chelsea man returned a positive Covid-19 test at the weekend. However, he will be the only absentee as Clarke will have a 25 man squad to pick from for their final group match.

Scotland predicted XI: Marshall; McTominay, Hanley, Tierney; O’Donnell, McGregor, Armstrong, McGinn, Robertson; Dykes, Adams

Croatia predicted XI: Livakovic; Vrsaljko, Vida, Lovren, Gvardiol; Brozovic, Kovacic; Vlasic, Modric, Perisic; Petkovic
