Royal Ascot Day Two Preview
Royal Ascot Day Two Preview
After an enthralling first day of races at the Royal Ascot yesterday. Here is your guide to the second day at of horse racing’s finest meetings.
Queen Mary Stakes – 2:30pm
A big field to race for this one. Twilight Gleaming seems to be the one to look out for. Trainer Wesley Ward posses an enviable record at this race, with four wins. Quick Suzy seems to be the the best of the rest and could be solid for an each-way bet.
Queen’s Vase – 3:05 pm
None of these horses are yet to to reach Group 2 company, many of the field are aiming to complete a race of this distance for the first time. Wordsworth seems to be the front runner for this one, as trainer Aidan O’Brien and jockey Ryan Moore have won 3 out of the 6 last runnings of this race.
Duke of Cambridge Stakes – 3:40pm
Onassis ended her 2020 campaign with two superb runs down Ascot’s straight course. She was last seen with a very strong finish amongst the Group 1 QIPCO British Champions Sprint in October of last year. The four-year-old is a horse to be feared in this one and it’s expected that she will get her season off to a flyer.
All you need is Love… ?@Ballydoyle are looking to land their 75th #RoyalAscot winner this afternoon.

Prince of Wales’s Stakes – 4:20pm
Regarded as the big one. With no confirmed front runners in the line-up for this race, this could prove to be a race of tactics. Armory, a consistently high performer, seems to have an edge on Love and Lord North when it comes to fitness which could prove pivotal in this race.
Windsor Castle Stakes – 5:35pm
Aiden O’Brien holds an envious record for this race, which bodes very well for the chances of Amalfi Coast. 5 of his runners in the Windsor Castle’s last 10 runnings hold 2 winners, a 3rd and a 4th place finish. Wesley Ward also holds a strong chance which his front runner Ruthin who must be respected with this faster ground.
