Premier League Latest standings, fixtures and results

Liverpool managed to reassert themselves in the EPL title race, after crashing Newcastle 4-2 at home on New Year. That leaves Aston Villa three points behind them in second place, while Manchester closes the top three after crashing Sheffield United last weekend. Arsenal follows closely behind in fourth place, while Tottenham occupies the fifth spot.

While Arsenal isn’t among the top three, the Gunners are only two points behind the second-placed Aston Villa. However, the Gunners lost their last game against Fulham and they are set to meet Crystal Palace in their next Premier League game, after meeting Liverpool in the FA Cup this Sunday. EPL Upcoming Fixtures

Chelsea vs Fulham – 13th January

The Blues have gone through a truly dismal 2023 and even the arrival of coach Mauricio Pochettino didn’t help to inspire an upturn. Chelsea welcomes Fulham at Stamford Bridge on 13th January, after meeting Preston and Middlesborough in the FA Cup. However, Chelsea lost their last match against Luton.

Heading into this game, Chelsea stands 10th in the League table while Fulham is 13th after beating Arsenal last weekend. However, Fulham will have a challenging time beating Chelsea, who will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing crash at Luton. As such, the Blues will be heading into the game as the bookie’s favorites.

Newcastle vs Manchester City – 13th January

After losing their last game at the hands of Liverpool, New Castle will welcome Manchester City in their EPL action at St James Park on 13th January. However, the third-placed Manchester City will be a hard nut for them to crack despite having the home advantage.

Manchester City walks into this game as the bookie’s favorite, after beating Sheffield Wednesday in their last league match. Man City also hopes that a win in this match will help them outrank Aston Villa who are sitting two points above them in second place.

Everton vs Aston Villa – 14th January

Aston Villa will face Everton away from home at Goodison Park on 14th January, a match that’s expected to be highly competitive for both sides. The visitors are currently sitting second on the league table, with Manchester City and Arsenal closely trailing behind them.

Everton on the other side have had a disappointing performance over the last few weeks, losing their last three league matches against Tottenham, Manchester City, and Wolves. As such, the team will be looking to bounce back against the better-performing Aston Villa in this game.

Conclusion

Currently, Liverpool is leading the EPL title race with 45 points, with Aston Villa trailing behind them in second place. Manchester City and Arsenal stand at third and fourth consecutively with 40 points. As such, any of these four teams has a solid chance of dominating the 2023/2024 campaign this season.
