NBA Playoffs: Suns steal Game 2
After the Suns took game 1 at home, all eyes were on the Los Angeles Clippers to see if they could stage a comeback and level the series. Game 1 was a thriller after Devin Booker put one of the best performances in franchise history. A 40-point triple-double was Booker’s explosive performance in the Suns 120-114 win on Sunday.
Game 2 had much of the same thrilling energy as game 1. The Suns won 104-103 and they extended their lead up to 2-0 over the Clippers.

Clippers, who are still missing Kawhi Leonard, performed greatly in the 4th quarter, up until the end. Paul George drained cold shots in the final minute of the game as he finally started to prove his haters wrong. That was not until he was fouled as the score was 103-102 for the Clippers.
As George stepped on the line Suns fans thought the game was over. George is a great free throw shooter so the two buckets should have been effortless. However, the pressure had cearly mounted up throughout the game onto his shoulders, showing in the final minute. He missed both free throws, essentially giving the Suns a chance to win the game.
Monty Williams, Suns’ head coach, quickly drew up a play for Deandre Ayton. Everyone from the Clippers was expecting the ball to go to Phoenix’s main man – Devin Booker. However, Booker set a perfect screen for Ayton to come up and catch up a lob pass. The rest is history as the ball went in the hoop and the crowd exploded.
The Clippers are famous are coming from 0-2 deficits as they did in their previous two playoff series against the Jazz and the Mavericks. However, the Phoenix squad is different. Monty Williams’ Sun are an all-around team with great chemistry and with Chris Paul returning the Clippers will have a harder time overcoming this team.
Game 3 is a must-win game for the Clippers as they try to survive and keep their playoff chances alive. Paul George and company will have to show an impressive performance to be able to even have a chance at winning the series.
