Austria to host Formula One return in July
Formula One Return July
Austria is set to host the return of Formula One following the pause of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Austrian government has approved plans for the F1 season to return to action at the Red Bull Ring.
Proposed plans from the FIA include back-to-back weekends of racing in Austria behind closed doors in Spielberg on July 5 and July 12.
However, the FIA has also introduced an 80 person limit for each of the 10 teams, when racing continues.
Australia was set to host the 2020 opener in Melbourne but the spread of the virus brought the season to a halt, with 10 races cancelled/postponed since.
Racing could continue in Hungary on the following weekend (July 19) if the grand prix in Austria proves a success.
Britain has followed suit with two grand prix scheduled to take place in August at Silverstone.
