Haaland brace provides Dortmund with aggregate advantage over Paris Saint Germain
Norwegian teenager Erling Braut Haaland continued his sensational scoring form with a brace against Paris Saint Germain at the Westfalenstadion. Haaland’s double see’s Dortmund head into the second leg in Paris with the advantage.
The first half saw both teams at a stalemate, Haaland finally breaking the deadlock in the 69th minute with the striker collecting a rebounded shot and slotting the ball home.
Neymar gave PSG the equaliser shortly after in the 75th minute, Mbappe sending a cross into the box finding an unmarked Neymar in the six yard box who tapped the ball into the net.
Haaland produced another moment of excellence just two minutes later in the 77th minute, the Norwegian unleashing a superb strike on the edge of the box flying into the top left corner.
PSG will now head to the second leg at the Parc Des Princes with a one goal deficit on Wednesday, 11th March.
Erling Braut Haaland in numbers
Haaland’s brace took the strikers tally to 11 goals in seven appearances since joining Favre’s Dortmund in January from RB Salzburg. The Norwegian also extended his season goal tally to 39 goals in 29 appearances.
Haaland joins a short impressive list of players to reach 10 Champions League goals in their first season in the competition, joining the likes of Sadio Mané and Roberto Firmino. He becomes the first teenager to accomplish this feat in a single campaign.
